The Game of Circles

The Game of Circles invites players to experience the transformative values of Universal Basic Income while navigating life in a Balinese village setting. With limited access to cash, players collaborate to build a community-driven initiative that fulfills basic needs. Using a combination of Indonesian Rupiah and Circles Universal Basic Income points players move around the community into dedicated exchange zones where resources can be exchanged based on vendor and recipient agreements. Through mutual support and negotiation needs such as food, education, utilities, health services and more can be fulfilled.

The Game of Circles teaches the principles of alternative community currencies, mutual support, and the value of UBI in addressing living needs and essentials like food, education, and healthcare. This giant version of the game, which can be played by up to 30 people at once is suitable for classroom, team building, and community workshop settings. This game helps foster an understanding of mutually supportive economic alternatives and community-driven resilience.
